What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received that you wouldn’t give to anyone else? Why don’t you think it would apply to others?
There was some kind of song or poem that was recited in a tune that made it into the radio waves some years ago. The poem or recitation was something along the line that it is easy to dispense good advice and went on to say that we should always put on sun block. I thought that was really hilarious but it got stuck in my head nevertheless. Perhaps I remember funny stuff better 🙂
I have received some really good advice from my grandmother and father when I was much younger and it would not apply to anyone else really because they were not me and never will be. These advices were made specially for me at that point of time in my life. For example, “Stop playing, it is getting dark and you haven’t even taken your bath yet. You stinking girl!” said my beloved grandmother. “You must know how to put both your arms out with your elbows tucked in and your fists in front of your face when facing your opponent. This will protect you from being hit at vital areas.” said my dad about boxing. So it is obvious that these applied only to me and not for someone else.
So I shall dispense the advice from that poem, “Remember to put on sun block.” but then again, most of you in the western hemisphere are facing winter… but the sun do come out and it can be harsh, so it still applies.
