Sparkling or Still

What’s your idea of a perfect day off: one during which you can quietly relax, doing nothing, or one with one fun activity lined up after the other? Tell us how you’d spend your time.

This is really difficult, like trying to make a choice of having a relaxing time by a beautiful beach resort

and a trek up a beautiful mountain leading to a zip-line ride across to another mountain where you can do an adventurous ATV ride crossing rivers and go down scenic valleys.

So if I have to make a choice, I choose the relaxing time by the beach for now simply because I feel exhausted from all the stress of school and work and not being able to find time to rest or have a break.

Physically, I need to have an activity filled programme lined up so that I can get back in shape. Fitness is out of sorts since school and work has no exercise involved other than fingers on keyboards and eyes on the screen. If this goes on for any much longer, I will be in for some serious health issues. Yes, we should never be sentenced to the chair and must get up and move. My advice to anyone who wish to take on commitments to work and study, please space it out and take your time. No point cramming as you will not enjoy the process and will suffer more (in terms of health, sanity, pain, etc) and what benefit would that bring? I have learnt that we need to take time to smell the roses, time to reflect, time to breathe, time to care, etc. Generally, we need to use our time wisely and not miss the important things for the urgent ones.

I need to be still.

  1. What a contrast between your two photos! I see why the serenity of the beach appeals to you right now, but that mountain is beautiful in the other picture. (I’ve never been on an ATV–looks fun but scary).
