You’ve come into possession of one vial of truth serum. Who would you give it to (with the person’s consent, of course) — and what questions would you ask?
This magic potion called truth serum has never been in my wish list or wanting the responsibility of having a god-like position. Often wondered what some of my close friends or relatives think of certain issues that they kept silent on. Sometimes when there were difficult or painful experiences, you wish to know what they went through or how they felt about it but never to the extent of wanting them to reveal the truth or secrets if they do not wish to.
So this DP is ironic, on the one hand you have the power to make the person tell the truth with the notion that the person would not do so under normal circumstances, and yet a clause that requires the person’s consent. Come on, if the person consented (assumed not under duress), why the need for the vial?
Seriously, I wouldn’t want to have anything to do with such a serum. People can choose to be as truthful as they wish to be or otherwise. I hope to be as truthful, or some would say, real as I can be with the help of God I pray that I would not be living a lie. As slithery as truth can be, so is deception.
