Are you a picky eater? Share some of your favorite food quirks with us (the more exotic, the better!). Omnivores: what’s the one thing you won’t eat?

I am Chinese but fluent in the English and Malay language, not Mandarin. Foods I prefer are Indian (south and north) and Malay cuisines. The chinese foods I do eat more out of convenience and wider availibility.

Oh, I am spoilt for choice here in Singapore, I must admit the variety can be bewildering at times that it made me just have a cheese or tuna sandwich to avoid making a choice… did I mention that it’s common to eat out here? Well, we have food centres in almost every housing estate and food courts in shopping malls. Food stalls are usually a short walk from home or office. The options are multi-racial and international too.

The quirky part about my food preference recently is LCHF – low carb high fat, introduced by my cousin. It’s tough as my habit has been more carbs and less fat. I am not that strict about it but it has helped me see fats quite differently and pork has become a common item in my diet. Also made some low carb pancakes which was cool!


There are some foods sold readily that I cannot appreciate or stomach and two of them are frog porridge and turtle soup. These I leap and turn away from.
