Are you a good judge of other people’s happiness?
I don’t think I can ever be a good judge of other people’s happiness. The laughter, the smiles, the look in their eyes seem to tell me they are happy. Somehow, when conversation gets down to more serious stuff, I will be surprised by the negative outlook the person has on life. Ironically, I have encountered people who seemed happy to be unhappy! This is depressing.
Some people have a cheerful disposition even with a sad or stressful backdrop. They choose to be cheerful as a way of coping or a belief. Whether the person is really happy, beats me. I think people with a meaningful purpose and a positive outlook on life will find happiness even with road bumps along the way.
People with kind and gracious habits will make others around them happy. The Happy Radar works when I see such kind and gracious interactions or deeds. These deeds are contagious as it warms my heart to see it and inspires me to do the same. I will also say a little prayer to bless these people so they can continue their happy deeds and spread happiness in this world that will always be in need.
